Dicey Cube

A large cube slides down along the thread and stops midway at your command!
When others try the same, they fail miserably and are in awe of your magical powers!

It's a fun routine with a lot of possibilities!

Show everyone that the Dice cube slides freely on the cord.
If you hold the cord vertically, and let the die drop from the top, of course the cube will quickly slide down the cord.
That's gravity at work!

But you are the magician, and you have "special command".
Let everyone watch as you place your secret  power into the cube.
Now, when you hold the cord vertically, the cube stays at the top!

Wait wait wait!
Here comes the best part!
At your command, the cube drops an inch or two, then stops, then drops a little bit more, then stops...
Whatever you want it to do!

Let your spectator choose a spot on the cord, and you can make the  Cube drop and stop at the exact spot chosen!

Of course, now your spectator will want to try it.
But when he picks up the cord, the die is again loose, and quickly drops down to the bottom of the cord.
He does not have the power!
